A display device includes: a display part that includes respective plural display pixels of first through fourth colors, has a first pixel column and a second pixel column alternately arranged in a second direction different from a first direction, and displays plural parallax images, with the first pixel column having the display pixels of the first and second colors being alternately arranged in the first direction, and the second pixel column having the display pixels of the third and fourth colors being alternately arranged in the first direction; and a separation element that has plural parallax separation parts extending in a third direction different from both the first and second directions and separates the plural parallax images in plural viewpoint directions. Further, the following two expressions (1) and (2) are satisfied: Nx=Npix+Yo/(2×S)...(1); S=Nsy/Nsx...(2).
