Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for instruments of a vehicle including economical display that is not difficult to sensuously grasp unlike display using a scale and a pointer, and does not provides only ON/OFF information like a warning indicator lamp, but provides three-dimensional display and strongly impresses a driver and passengers.SOLUTION: The display device of a vehicle includes a first display part which displays instruments of the vehicle, and a second display part which displays additional information. The display part is, for example, a speedometer, and the second display part displays, for example, information associated with economical driving. The second display part has a plurality of colorless transparent light guide plates arranged over a top side of a dial of the first display part, wherein the light guide plates are grooved in a pattern (for example, a flower), and light is guided to the light guide plates as the degree of economical driving is improved to let the driver and passengers view the pattern formed by the grooving.
