The lighting light 15 is light with plural peak wavelengths distributed discontinuously, and by making this lighting light 15 onto the hologram plate 13 according to predetermined conditions, the light Li1 or Lin differing in color from each other is emitted as reproduced light from each recording part of the hologram plate 13 in a striped pattern distributed, and a multi-color display is achieved by the light by which each image is distributed in a striped pattern of mutually different color. For the optical control element 19, for example, a liquid-crystal element using polymer dispersed liquid crystal layer is used.
