To allow a driver to safely recognize an object within a distant range from the center of a visual field.SOLUTION: An image display device comprises: a peripheral information acquisition unit that acquires peripheral information indicating the state on the periphery of a movable body; a viewpoint information acquisition unit that acquires viewpoint information indicating the position of the viewpoint of a driver of the movable body; an image creation unit that calculates the degree of danger of an object present outside a certain range of visual field viewed from the driver, and creates an image indicating the magnitude of the calculated degree of danger and the direction in which the object is present, the image being displayed inside the certain range of visual field; and a display control unit that outputs the created image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
