Abstract:
PURPOSE:To display a free curved face in a high speed by providing an algorithm obtaining a coordinate of the point on a curved surface corresponding directly to a display picture element from the parameter expression of the free curved face and a luminance reflecting on the picture element with fidelity to decrease the number of steps calculating a display pattern. CONSTITUTION:Sixteen control data on three axes are inputted to a control point register 310 of a display controller; a normal vector calculating value, light source direction vector value and a vector value in visual line direction are transmitted to a calculation unit 390 as control data. The unit 390 calculates a normal vector and sets an initial coordinate point starting the display to the display register 350. Furthermore, a data required for the execution is transferred to a parameter calculation unit 370. Then the coordinate point on the corresponding curved face to the display piture element is obtained by a split control point register 320 and a recurrence formula calculating unit 340 or the like, and the luminance reflecting on the display picture element with fidelity is obtained by a silhouette edge calculating unit 420 and a luminance calculating unit 410 to display the free curved face in a high speed.
