Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a distance measuring device for a camera wherein a distance measurement time can be shortened.
CONSTITUTION: A control circuit 80 controls switches 65-67, capacitors 63, 64 as integrating elements of an integrating circuit 60 for integrating voltage in response to brightness of pulse light from IRED 14 reflected on an object to be photographed are connected in parallel and fixed distance measurement precision can be obtained due to sufficient capacitance of the capacitors 63, 64 connected in parallel. Furthermore, after the voltage Vi output from the integrating circuit 60 reaches reference voltage of a level discrimination circuit 70, thereafter an integration time is shortened and a distance measurement time can be reduced because the capacitors 63, 64 are connected in series, the capacitance of the integrating element is decreased and the integration time is increased. Thereby it has an advantage in a shutter chance.
