When the remaining fuel becomes smaller than a specified quantity, the display of a fuel gage becomes EMPTY. At this time, a fuel detecting switch 26 is turned ON, and the counted value up to this time on a counting circuit 21 is reset to 0. Thereafter, in the circuit 21, the number of the output pulses from a vehicle speed sensor 20 is counted. The running distance after the time when the display of the fuel gage became EMPTY is computed through a computing circuit 22 and a driving circuit 23, and the result is displayed on a display part 24. Even though the time when the display of the fuel gage became EMPTY was overlooked, the fuel consumption and the like of the vehicle are considered based on the running distance on the display part 24, and how many kilometers can be covered can be positively judged.
