Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confine breakage to only that on the an injection pump side and extremely reduce a fear of breakage occurring to an engine by a method wherein a brittle part, having strength being relatively lower, is arranged at the rotary member of an injection pump, and the brittle part is formed in a specified position.
SOLUTION: When seizure occurs to a rotor 13 at some of first - third slide parts 46-48 due to some cause and rotation is constrained, rotation of even a rotor 13 and a drive shaft 3 coupled thereto is constrained. A high load is applied in a brake direction at a timing at which a drive pulley mounted on a drive shaft 3 and the drive pulley of the crank shaft of an engine are intercoupled. In this case. A drive force is transmitted to the drive shaft 3 of an injection pump from a crank shaft. As a result, by drive torque exerted on the drive shaft 3, the annular groove 45 of the rotor 13 is twisted and a part situated closer to the drive shaft than the annular groove 45 is consecutively rotated in synchronism with the engine without impeding rotation. This constitution prevents the occurrence of the trouble of the engine.
