This document management system is provided with: a retrieval part 1-2 which retrieves a document, and stores a retrieval keyword used for retrieving the document, organization information to which a user belongs, and the storage destination folder of the document by associating them with the document referenced by the user among the retrieved documents in a retrieval information DB2-2, specifies the document whose corresponding organization information is the same as that of the user, and whose corresponding keyword is the same as that designated by the user from among documents stored in the retrieval information DB2-2 in the case of retrieving the document, and extracts the storage destination folder corresponding to the specified document; and an operation part 1-1 which displays the list of the storage destination folders extracted by the retrieval part 1-2 in the case of retrieving the document. The retrieval part 1-2 retrieves the document from the storage destination folder designated by the user among the storage destination folders displayed in the list in the case of retrieving the document.
