Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL: A cell growth inhibitor named dolastatin 14, expressed by the formula.
USE: An agent for treating neoplasm diseases.
PROCESS: For example, by solvent-extracting the Indian Ocean shell-less mollusk Dolabella auricularia by use of ethanol 2-propanol, concentrating the extract to a methylene chloride concentrate by using, solvent partition, etc.; next, fractionating it by an extensive column chromatography using a gradient elution technique, chromatographing it using HPLC and gradient-eluting by use of methanol water solution of 1:1-9:1, and finally refining the activated fraction by precipitation from methanol, a pure-sample of dolastation 14, expressed by formula in amorphous powder form can be obtained.
