Title:
DOOR CONSTRUCTION FOR REFRIGERATOR AND FREEZER SPACES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03117877
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce time required for dissipating mist or frost, by providing a refrigerator having a door structure of two parallel glass panes, of which the glass pane facing a low-temperature refrigerator or freezing space is coated with an infrared-reflective coating on a surface thereof facing cooler space.

CONSTITUTION: A door comprises two parallel glass panes 20 and 21. The glass pane 20 is provided with an electrically conductive coating or layer 23 for electrically heating the glass pane 20 at the surface 22 thereof facing away from the warm atmosphere of a shop area. The glass pane 21 facing toward the cooler refrigerator or freezer space is provided with an infrared-reflective coating or layer 25 at the surface 24 facing toward the low-temperature space. The low emissivity of the infrared-reflective coating 25 reduces emission exchange between the inner surface 24 of the inner glass pane 21 and the interior of the refrigerator or the freezer space and articles therein. Heating the inner glass pane is assisted a little by infrared emission incident thereto from the shop area, so that time required for dissipating cloudiness of glass is reduced.
