To provide a door handle device which detects an opening/closing operation by using a displacement detecting means with a flexible structure, capable of obtaining sufficient detection sensitivity even only by contact under low pressure.
In this door handle device, a piezoelectric sensor 4 with flexibility can be annexed to a door handle 3, and the microdisplacement of the door handle 3 can be detected with high sensitivity. Discrimination between modes of vibrations can be made according to an output signal because a discrimination part 171 is provided. Thus, sufficient signal output can be obtained even only by a touch with the door handle 3, and the touch with the door handle 3 can be detected. Additionally, the door handle device can detect various kinds of vibrations so as to make discrimination between the vibrations by the operation of opening a door and the other vibrations. A prescribed operation corresponding to the discrimination is performed, so that the highly functional door handle device excellent in convenience can be realized.
