PURPOSE: To obtain a dot measuring apparatus in which dot shape and, especially, dot volume are measured simply and in which the ink transfer amount is computed precisely.
CONSTITUTION: A TV camera 3 is attached to a microscope 2 so as to be freely attachable detachable, and a dot image in an enlarged gravure printing plate 1 is imaged. The dot image, which has been imaged, is transmitted to an image processing circuit 4. The microscope 2 can adjust a focusing position according to the shape of a dot. A Z-axis scaler 6, which measures a movement amount, is installed at the microscope 2, and the Z-axis scaler 6 transmits the movement amount to a CPU 7. The CPU 7 selects an arbitrary point inside the image by an input with a mouse 8. A graphic controller 9 operates a prescribed image for operating, it creates image data, it transmits the image data to the image processing circuit 4, and it composes the dot image imaged by the TV camera 3 with the image data.
