To materialize a new type drive device.
The drive device includes a connected body to which a piezoelectric element 42 and a transmission shaft 44 are connected, a stationary member (case 50) with which the transmission shaft 44 is directly or indirectly engaged so that it can be slid along the direction of the length of the transmission shaft 44, and a lens holder 31 that is displaced together with the connected body relative to the stationary member in response to the application of a driving voltage to the piezoelectric element 42. The lens holder 31 is displaced relative to the stationary member during a first period and is substantially not displaced relative to the stationary member during a second period. During the first period, the voltage value of driving voltage varies between a first voltage level and a second voltage level in a relatively short time. During the second period, the voltage value of driving voltage varies between the first voltage level and the second voltage level over a relatively long time.
