Abstract:
To perform an appropriate preliminary operation according to the situation around a target object.SOLUTION: A driving assistance device performs a first preliminary operation when the degree of approach between a vehicle and a target object satisfies a second condition, performs a second preliminary operation when the degree of approach satisfies a third condition and when no space where the vehicle can travel is determined to be present in both travel paths on the lateral sides of the target object after avoiding contact by steering at the time point when the third condition is satisfied, recognizes a relative lateral position of the target object to traffic lanes, and when the degree of offset in the lateral direction of the target object to the traffic lanes satisfies a reference, suppresses the second preliminary operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
