To increase a delivery quantity of an oil pump as much as possible by releasing an input clutch, when a first oil pump is driven by power from wheels in a coasting condition of a vehicle.
An input signal is treated (S1) by various kinds of electronic control device and an integrated control device, and then it is decided (S2) whether car speed is a prescribed value. When it is decided as being positive, it is decided whether a vehicle is in a coast condition (S3). In the case of the coasting condition, a coast brake is engaged (S4) according to speed stage set by an automatic transmission, and control for releasing an input clutch is performed (S5). Furthermore, a rock-up clutch is engaged (S6), and loss of power is eliminated. It is thus possible to further increase the delivered quantity of a mechanical oil pump.
