To provide a dross removing apparatus for removing dross generated in hot-dip galvanizing of a steel sheet.
The dross removing apparatus is provided in connection with a galvanizing tank (hereinafter expressed as plating tank) and has a melting function of a metal to be added and a dross removing function. A dross tank is divided into two compartments by a filter, and a first compartment is composed of a part for holding molten zinc cleaned by the filter provided in the dross tank and for melting an added plating metal, and a second compartment is composed of a part for receiving the molten zinc and light dross from the plating tank through a trough. A first communication hole equipped with a magnetic valve for supplying the clean molten zinc to the plating tank from the first compartment is provided between the plating tank and the dross tank. The second compartment is equipped with a trough for moving the molten zinc containing light dross floating on the surface of the molten zinc of the plating tank and dross floating in hot dip galvanizing bath to the dross tank, and removes heavy dross precipitated and light dross floating in the plating tank from the plating tank.
