To provide a drum type drying and washing machine capable of accurately and quickly performing abnormal temperature detection and abnormality reporting after a drying operation is ended without raising a cost by simple constitution, automatically starting and stopping water supply and performing fire extinguishing work further.

This machine is provided with a water tank 2, a drum 3 rotatably disposed inside the water tank 2, a heater 5 for drying for drying laundry housed in the drum 3 and an abnormal temperature sensor 41 for detecting an abnormal temperature inside the water tank 2. In the case of detecting the abnormal temperature during the drying operation or after the drying operation is ended by the abnormal temperature sensor 41, abnormality is reported.
