Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable uniform drying of an object preventing partial superheating of the object to be dried, by placing a shaft of a stirrer in a horizontally disposed cylindrical vessel and fixing a specific perforated disk screen to the shaft. CONSTITUTION:The objective drying apparatus for the effective utilization of processed food by-products such as bean curd refuse, beer cake and coffee dregs has the following construction. A horizontal rotary shaft 2 is provided in a horizontal cylindrical vessel 1. Stirrers 3 and perforated disk screens 4, 5, 6 are alternately fixed to the rotary shaft 2 in the direction of the shaft. An end of the cylindrical vessel 1 is provided with a feeding apparatus 7 for the drying object and a hotair blasting port 9 and the other end is furnished with a delivery port 10 to deliver the dried object together with air stream. Each of the disk screens 4, 5, 6 has a number of perforations. The area and the opening ratio of each perforation is made to be decreased toward the flowing direction of the hot air.
