Abstract:

PURPOSE: To output a DTMF signal as data which are easily used by an application program by acquiring a speech signal on a telephone line by the DTMF decoder, converting the signal into an electric signal, and outputting as data to the internal bus of a UNIX-based computer.

CONSTITUTION: When the DTMF signal is sent out of a telephone set 1, it is received by a telephone interface 3 connected to the UNIX computer 9 through the telephone line 11 and further supplied to the DTMF decoder 10 for the UNIX computer. This signal is inputted to a function 5 for conversion from an electric signal to data and outputted as a bit array data corresponding to the specific electric signal to a specific address space of the internal bus 6 of the UNIX computer 9. Then a DTMF software interface 7 converts the data into ASCII code, which is outputted as a character type of the C programming language specifications.
