PURPOSE: To simplify a structure, reduce weight and size by obtaining reciprocating motion through a duplex piston which determins front and rear spaces, engaging the piston with a swash plate through a shoe, and thereby converting reciprocating motion to rotation.
CONSTITUTION: He gas is respectively sealed as working gas in plural front spaces Fc..., rear spaces Ra..., and connection pipes 20a to 20d. Heating steam is circulated inside a first jacket 16, while cooling water is circulated inside a second jacket 17. The operation gas inside the connection pipe 20a is isovolmetrically heated and isothermally expanded by the heating steam. Then a piston 15a is moved in an expanding direction inside a bore 6a by the operation gas inside the front spaces. On the other hand, the operation gas inside the connection pipe 20d is isovolmetrically cooled and isothermally contracted by the cooling water. Then the piston 15a is moved in a contracting direction by the operation gas inside the connection pipe 20d. Finally, an output shaft 12 is rotated through a swash plate 13.
