To provide a device for improving surrounding environment by sucking and removing dust, flames and flue gas generated in scrap during charging the scrap into an electric furnace after efficiently collecting them from electric furnace facilities for melting the scrap in a steelmaking plant.

In dust collecting facilities for collecting dust generated during melting the scrap in steelmaking through a direct suction duct 19 arranged facing an exhaust port 15 of a dust collecting pipe 14 of a furnace cover 3 of the electric furnace 1, the furnace cover 3 and an electrode 4 are removed for charging the scrap 9 as steelmaking materials, the scrap 9 is supplied into the electric furnace 1 by using a lifting crane 22 for charging a bucket 6 filled with the scrap 9 into an electric furnace body 2, and a dust collecting port 20 of the direct suction duct 19 is connected to the upper part of a side wall 11 of the bucket 6 charged into the electric furnace body 2 through the outside of the side wall 11 in such a manner as to face a dust collecting hole 12 opened thereto.
