Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the support structure of a trailing arm, which can improve both the riding comfort and the operation stability and which can also improve the durability.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of outside and inside boss parts 2a, 2b of a trailing arm 2, which are arranged so that the oscillation axis A thereof is directed in the nearly cross direction of a car, are respectively supported by a car body through rubber bushes to form the support structure of the trailing arm 2. In this case, the outside bush consists of a first rubber bush 15 coaxial with the oscillation axis A and a second rubber bush 20 having an axis at a right angle against the oscillation axis A and the cross directional rigidity larger than that of the first rubber bush 15. The outside boss part 2a is provided with a support shaft 14 coaxial with the oscillation axis A, and one end of the support shaft 14 is supported by a car body through the first rubber bush 15, and the other end of the support shaft 14 is supported by the car body through a universal coupling 19 and the second rubber bush 20.
