Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a dyeing agent capable of wholly well covering white hair in a uniform natural color without changing the mechanical characteristics of the hair.
CONSTITUTION: This dyeing agent comprises (A) a composition containing 0.05-5wt.% of a mono- or di-hydroxy compound, preferably a compound of the formula (R1-R4 are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, and R2 is further carboxyl) or its alkali(ne earth) metal salt, ammonium salt or amine salt, having an oxidation-reduction potential of ≤200mV, when measured by the use of glassy carbon electrodes at a pH of 7, and (B) a composition containing 0.01-5wt.% of a compound selected from among hydroxyacetophenone, hydroxybenzophenone, 2-hydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone, hydroxy(or amino)-1,4- naphthoquinone, and hydroxy(or amino)-9,10-acetoquinone in a medium suitable for the dyeing.
