Abstract:
To manufacture a luminescent layer formed of SrS:Ce of high blue color purity with high reproducibility.
In forming the luminescent layer 14 containing SrS as a luminescent base material and Ce added as a luminescence center on a glass substrate 11 in a deposition chamber, a sulfur feed substance and water or a substance containing the water are simultaneously introduced in the deposition chamber. Thus, the blue color purity of the luminescent layer formed of SrS:Ce can be increased.
