Abstract:
To provide an earth leakage breaker that comprises an A-type leakage determination circuit and an AC-type leakage determination circuit, and that can select and use one leakage determination circuit suitable for an installation environment.SOLUTION: An earth leakage breaker has: a zero-phase current transformer 1 that detects a zero-phase current of a cable way; a leakage determination circuit 5 that determines occurrence of leakage on the basis of the zero-phase current detected by the zero-phase current transformer 1; and a tripping coil 3 that cuts off the cable way when it is determined that leakage occurs. The leakage determination circuit 5 comprises: an AC-type leakage determination circuit 5a that detects and determines leakage of an AC current; and an A-type leakage determination circuit 5b that detects and determines leakage of a pulsating current including a DC component; and a circuit selection part 8 that uses one of the two leakage determination circuits 5a and 5b. The selected leakage determination circuit 5a or 5b determines the occurrence of leakage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
