The elevator equipped with a P-wave sensor comprises a means receiving the emergency earthquake advance report; a means calculating the estimated arrival time of P waves according to the emergency earthquake advance report; and a control operation instructing means executing controlled operation according to the P-wave sensor when the p-wave sensor is actuated, and executing controlled operation corresponding to the estimated arrival time of the P waves, an estimated earthquake intensity, and a car state when the emergency earthquake advance report is received before the actuation of the P-wave sensor.
