To prevent the occurrence of poor quality due to fluttering of a film-shaped article and the like by performing carrying in a stable state, especially carrying in a stable state at a left end surface portion and a right end surface portion, and to obtain a required opening ratio even if a string-shaped article is not wound around a conveying surface.

In the levitation device, air jets out from discharging holes 13a, 13b toward the film-shaped article F through an opening portion 10 so as to diffuse in all directions at a direction changing portion 2a, jets out from a discharging hole 16a toward the film-shaped article F through an opening portion 11 in the same direction as a carrying direction of the film-shaped article F at a carrying-in portion (a right end surface portion)2b, and jets from the discharging hole toward the film-shaped article F in the opposite direction to the carrying direction of the film-shaped article F through the opening to levitate the film-shaped article F and enable 180 direction change from an arrow A1 to A2 direction shown in Fig.1 at a carrying-out portion (a left end surface portion) 2c.
