Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient brake force by approaching and opposing the pole faces of an exciting coil with the tread of a wheel through a small gap, and effectively generating an eddy current due to the exciting current on the tread of the wheel. CONSTITUTION:A supporting frame 6 is supported through a supporting mechanism 5 to truck frame 4 in both forward and backward directions of wheels 1. A plurality of upper and lower exciting coils 7 are aligned and mounted on the inner periphery of the wheel 1 of the portion 6a of the frame 6. When an exiting current is flowed to the coils 7, eddy currents are generated on the tread of the wheel to obtain a sufficient brake force.
