Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a small-sized efficient magnetic circuit obtainable between an eddy-current reduction gear and a braking drum by a combined body of block-shaped (rectangular parallelepiped) magnets with a ferromagnetic member.
SOLUTION: In a braking drum 13 coupled with a rotating shaft 4, a mobile magnet supporting pipe 19 and an immobile magnet supporting pipe 19 are arranged coaxially with the drum 13, and many magnets 20 and 20A are supported on the outer peripheral walls of the supporting pipes 19 and 19A at regular intervals in the peripheral direction. The base-side end faces of ferromagnetic members 21 and 21A are coupled with the magnetic pole faces of the magnets 20 and 20A at both ends in the peripheral direction, and the front end faces of the members 21 and 21A face opposite to the inner peripheral surface 13a of the braking drum 13. An actuator which rotates the mobile magnet supporting pipe 19 is both the normal and reverse directions is provided.
