Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a correct judgment without being affected by the inherent brightness or contamination of a press plate by obtaining the change quantity based on the output values from multiple sensors, and determining an edge sensor with the change quantity used as a reference.
CONSTITUTION: Multiple sensors 17 corresponding to multiple reflected light passages 20 are arranged in a line on a detecting head 11. The output values ARn after sensitivity correction of the sensors 17 after sensitivity correction are calculated based on ARn=An/Rn from the output voltage values Rn outputted when the sensors 17 receive the reflected light from a press plate 15 and the output voltage values Rn outputted when the sensors 17 receive the reflected light from a sensitivity correcting reference plate 18, where (n) is the sensor number. The change quantities D of the output values are calculated based on D=&verbar ARn-ARn+1&verbar from the output values ARn and ARn+1 of adjacent sensors 17. The maximum change quantity among the change quantities D is compared with both adjacent change quantities, and an edge sensor 17 is determined.
