Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automatically detect and record the scene change position of encoded image data.
CONSTITUTION: This device for editing the image information of a still picture and a moving picture is provided with a DCT transforming discrete cosine, a DC coefficient extraction part 17 selecting only the DC coefficient of an encoded pixel, two memories 19, 20 storing respective DC coefficients of compared frames, a switch 18 shifting two memories, a differential extraction circuit 21 comparing the DC coefficients of two memories, an absolute value forming circuit 22 obtaining the absolute value of the differential value and a change decision circuit 23 comparing the differential values and judging the number of the differential value with a threshold value or above.
