PURPOSE: To cope with alterations of facility contents and time-serial variation of fault features by materializing generalized examples of fault examples and storing the results, storing the statistical processing result of the fault examples, and selecting a specific fault regarding corresponding equipment with the storage contents and displaying a problem to a learner.

CONSTITUTION: The learner is given lessons as to a specific place in the contents of a teaching material storage part 11 first. Then a problem generation part 18 selects the equipment related to the instructed contents among facility constituent equipments stored in a facility classification knowledge storage part 13. Then a generalized example materialization part 16 selects generalized examples of a fault of high-order equipment of the selected equipment among generalized examples stored in a generalized example storage part 14 and further selects one generated example out of them on the basis of a specific reference. The generalized example materialization part 16 substitutes the name of the equipment where the fault occurs in the selected generalized example for a specific low-order equipment and indicates that the fault occurs to the specific equipment.
