To provide an ejector surely performing a flow rate control regardless of magnitude of a flow rate.
The ejector 50 includes: a nozzle 120 having an opening part 122 through which a main flow can pass; a diffuser 110 disposed downstream of the nozzle to be coaxial with the nozzle; a needle 130 disposed coaxially with the nozzle and disposed to abuts on/be separated from the opening part; and an actuator 140 to relatively move the nozzle and the needle in an axial direction to change an opening area of the opening part. The ejector 50 generates a mixed flow by joining an auxiliary flow to the main flow at a position where a suction action acts in the diffuser, and delivers the mixed flow from the diffuser. In the ejector 50, a control part for controlling the actuator is provided to make the opening area repeatedly change between a preset first opening area and a second opening area, at predetermined time intervals.
