Abstract:

To suitably perform an opening control of a variable diffuser, in an internal combustion engine having a low-pressure EGR system.

The control device is for an internal combustion engine including: a supercharger having a compressor (110) with variable diffuser (300) and a turbine (120); and a recirculator (124) recirculating exhaust from an outlet side of the turbine to an inlet side of the compressor. The control device for an internal combustion engine includes: a first pressure detector (105) detecting first pressure as pressure between a guide part in an intake pipe and a compressor; a second pressure detector (104) detecting second pressure as pressure upstream of the guide part in the intake pipe; an estimator (501) estimating a volume of air flowing into the compressor, by using difference between the first pressure and the second pressure; and an opening controller (502) controlling vane opening of the variable diffuser, based on the estimated air volume.
