To make holdable a peeled sheath chip without dropping on the ground, prevent refuse from scattering, and at the same time, ensure the safety by providing a holding mechanism to hold a sheath chip of an insulating electric cable, which is peeled into a spiral shape, in an electric cable peeler which peels the sheath of an insulating electric cable into a spiral shape.
When a horseshoe shape rotating plate 4 equipped with electric cable guides 2 and 3 is rotated through a gear mechanism including a bevel gear train by the rotation of a driving shaft, by a cutting blade 10 of a cutter unit 11 which is attached to the electric cable guide 3, the sheath 1a of an insulating electric cable 1 is peeled into a spiral shape. In such an electric cable peeler, as a holding mechanism to hold the sheath chip 1a' of the insulating electric cable 1, a guide pin 13 equipped with a mandrel 12 of which the tip end section is widened so that the sheath chip 1a' may be wound under a spiral shape, is prepared, and the guide pin 13 is attached to the cutter unit 11. In addition, on the cutter unit 11, a flange shape chip guide 14 which assists in such a manner that the sheath chip may become easier to wind around the guide pin 13, is provided.
