Title:
ELECTRIC CONNECTOR FOR ATTACHING PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2704510
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector for attaching a printed circuit board, provided with a very compact terminal array in which a terminal can be easily inserted into a connector, and to be punched from a sheet metal material in a state where the terminal is very efficient and has no waste.
SOLUTION: An electric connector is provided with a long thin insulated housing to be attached to the front surface of a printed circuit board 44. This housing is provided with a terminal receiving passage 40 generally extending in parallel to the circuit board between the front fitting surface 14 and the rear end surface 16. A plurality of terminals 30a, 30b are attached as one pair to the housing, a fitting art of the terminal is in the passage 40, and the ends 54, 56 of the terminals projects from the rear surface of the housing and terminated to the circuit trace on the printed circuit board. The terminal is punched from a sheet metal material so that respective pairs of terminals may be on the same flat surface. The ends 54, 56 have reversed U-shape, and the U-shaped end parts 56 of a lower terminal 30b is nested into a U-shaped end part 54 of the upper terminals 30a of respective pairs.
