To provide an electric device operation mechanism with excellent assembling workability on which an operating knob can be simply and correctly mounted.
On the operation mechanism, having an upper housing 3 covering a circuit board 1, on which a switch element 2 is mounted; and the operating knob 5 having an operation rod 9 for driving an actuator of the switch element 2, mounted on the upper housing 3 in free rocking movement; of which the operating knob 5 is jointed to the upper housing 3 by snap-fitting a pivot axis 3c into an axis hole 5a; an engaging convex part 3d is arranged on tip end face of the pivot axis 3c in protrusion direction, and a guide groove 5b of which upper end part is communicated with the axis hole 5a is arranged on the operating knob 5. When mounting the operating knob 5, an engaging protrusion part 3d is made to separate from the guide groove 5b and the operation rod 9 is made to engage with the actuator before the pivot axis 3c is inserted into the axis hole 5a, by guiding the operating knob 5 by making an engaging protrusion part 3d engage with the guide groove 5b.
