Title:
ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3465728
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly move down a machining tank with large bottom area into machining liquid in a bed.
SOLUTION: Machining liquid 1 is stored in the lower part of a bed 2 and a table 4 on which a workpiece 3 is placed is disposed above the machining liquid 1. A machining tank 7 is disposed in a bed 2 such that it surrounds the table 4 and is moved up and down along a support 5 by a driving device 8. The machining liquid 1 in the bed 2 is sent to machining tank 7 by a machining liquid supply device 9 and electric discharge machining is performed in a state in which the workpiece 3 and electrode 11 are immersed in the machining liquid 6 in the machining tank 7. A hole through which the machining liquid passes is bored in the bottom of the machining tank 7 and the hole has a valve made of an elastic plate which flows the machining liquid only from the outside to the inside of the machining tank 7.
