PURPOSE: To provide an electric carpet having a safety circuit never operated by an abnormal temperature rise caused by an external heat source.

CONSTITUTION: An output signal is outputted to a judging circuit 20 according to the total impedance of a heat sensitive body 13 provided on a heating element 12. When a heat sensitive body 18 senses an abnormal temperature, and a switching circuit 14 is OFF, this is not an abnormal temperature rise of a body 11 caused by the heating element 12 because the heating element 12 is not electrified, and an abnormality signal is thus not outputted from the judging circuit 20, and a temperature fuse 17 is not operated. When the heat sensitive body 18 senses an abnormal temperature, and the switching circuit 14 is ON, this is the temperature abnormal rise of the body by the heating element 12, and the temperature fuse 17 is thus cut to interrupt the electrification to the heating element 12.
