Title:
ELECTRIC MELTING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3387650
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an electric melting system which prevents the oxidation consumption of a graphite electrode and a residue of unburned carbon in a melting furnace as much as possible even if a large quantity of unburned carbon is contained a matter to be melted to preferably and stably melt it.
CONSTITUTION: A secondary combustion chamber 3, a water spray type gas cooling tower 4 and a dust collector 5 are sequentially arranged from the upstream side of the exhaust passage 2 of an electric melting furnace 1 having a graphite electrode 1a. An exhaust gas circulating passage 9 branched and connected from the passage 2 is connected to the furnace 1 at the downstream side of the collector 5, and the part of the exhaust gas passed trough the collector 5 is circulated into the furnace 1. The combustion air amount supplied to the chamber 3 is so controlled as to completely burn in the chamber 3 based on the detected concentration by concentration detectors 11a, 11b for detecting the oxygen concentration and carbon monoxide concentration of the gas passed through the collector 5.
