Abstract:
To attain a structure ensuring quietness in position adjustment of a steering wheel 8 by a feeding screw mechanism 16 and attain completeness of protection of a driver in a collision accident.
A nut 17, i.e., a member to be driven is detachably attached to an inner column 3a constituting a steering column 1a based on impact load added in secondary collision. Therefore, in the secondary collision, a screw rod 18 constituting the feed screw mechanism 16 does not make resistance to forward displacement of the inner column 3a and completeness of protection of the driver is attained. Further, since the integrated article can be used as the screw rod 18, quietness in the position adjustment can be ensured.
