Abstract:
To precisely estimate torque intended by a driver and applied to a steering shaft.SOLUTION: An electric power steering device includes: a steering angle detecting unit that detects a steering angle at the input side of a steering shaft; an output shaft angle detecting unit that detects an output shaft angle at the output side of the steering shaft; a torque detecting unit that detects torque applied to the steering shaft; and a control unit that controls the electric power steering device. The control unit includes: an estimating block that derives the estimated value of driver torque on the basis of the torque and of the steering angle; a filter processing block that performs filter processing which suppresses the high-frequency components of the estimated value; and a changing block that changes the characteristics of a filter applied at the filter processing block in accordance with an angular velocity derived from the output shaft angle detected by the output shaft angle detecting unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
