To strengthen rigidity in a supporting part of a gear housing for a motor housing of an electric motor in order to suppress resonance and prevent noises from being propagated to a car interior, in an electric power steering device in which revolution of the electric motor is transmitted to a steering mechanism via a reduction gear mechanism.
In the gear housing 14 for housing the reduction gear mechanism, first and second cylindrical housings 15 and 16 line up in a crossing state. The second housing 16 is connected to a motor housing 17. A central axis line 25 of the second housing 16 is on the same axis line as a rotation axis 26 of the electric motor 6. First ribs 28a, 28b and second ribs 29a, 29b extending in parallel to the rotation axis 26 are provided at the second housing 16.
