Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric pressure contact connector that makes reliable and stable pressure connection to electric cables.
SOLUTION: An electric connector uses pressure contact terminals 5 each having a blade-like part 10 adapted to bite into the sheath of an electric cable down to the conductor for their pressure connection. The connector is formed in the top of its housing 2 with holding grooves 6 for receiving the terminals 5 and cables. The terminals 5 each have two guide pieces 13 and 14 adapted to locate in the groove 6 at two longitudinal positions on each side in the width direction to deform the associated cable widthwise, between which longitudinally placed guide pieces the blade-like part 10 extends so as to locate in the latitudinally middle position of the groove 6 and hold the cable placed thereon. The housing 2 is freely mounted thereon with a cover member 3 for pressing down the cables placed on the blade-like parts 10 in the grooves 6.
