To provide an electrical retractable outer mirror for a vehicle capable of rotating to certain degrees with an external force of an appropriate magnitude and of reducing the load at that time on the clutch constituent parts.
A rotary shaft 3' is held rotatably on a frame 2 to be fixed to a vehicle body, and an outer mirror unit is held by a mirror mounting flange 3a at the tip of the rotary shaft 3', and inside the frame 2, a driving part unit 20 is provided. A clutch unit 40 to control the rotation and stop of the rotary shaft 3' is installed inside the frame 2 situated coaxial with the rotary shaft 3', and coaxially with the rotary shaft 3', a ring-shaped leaf spring 45 is installed which makes a slip so that an external force exceeding the specified level given by the outer mirror unit is hindered from being transmitted to the driving part unit 20.
