To provide an electric wire/cable takeup device allowing enhancement of the efficiency of the wire/cable drawing operation.

The electric wire/cable takeup device is equipped with: a drum 12 furnished with a pair of end plates 17, 17 having insert holes at the two ends of an approximately cylindrical trunk part 16; a shaft 13 to be inserted into a drum shaft hole 18 formed from the insert holes and the internal space of the trunk part 6; and drum stands 14, 14 installed at the two ends of the shaft 13, wherein the drum shaft hole 18 has a polygonal section shape. The shaft 13 is furnished in the middle with a swollen portion 20 in polygonal shape mating with the section shape of the hole 18 so that they are hitched with each other. Further a drive mechanism 15 to rotate the shaft 13 is installed, and the shaft 13 is provided with a driven part 22 for transmitting the driving force of the drive mechanism 15.
