In this electric valve 10 comprising a valve body 12 for adjusting a flow rate of the fluid by a valve element in a valve chest, a can 16 fixed to the valve body 12 and incorporating a rotor 17 for operating the valve element 13, and a stator 18 externally fitted to the can 16 for rotating and driving a rotor 17, the valve element 13 is rotatable, and makes a flow rate of the fluid approximately constant regardless of the forward and backward flowing direction of the fluid. The valve element 13 has an cylindrical outer face, and is rotated on a central line of the cylinder and provided with an orifice 13a and a cut part 13b to allow the refrigerant to be communicated between channels 2a, 2b.
