Abstract:
To achieve both the thermal control of a power converter and the quietness of a vehicle without causing a driver to make a selection.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle disclosed by the present specification includes a power converter, a cooler, and a controller. The power converter is a device for converting the power of a power source by using a switching element into the driving power of a motor for traveling. The cooler includes a pump for pressure-feeding a coolant to the power converter. The controller controls the power converter and the cooler. In addition, the controller can execute vehicle speed control for controlling the speed of a vehicle between zero and a prescribed upper limit value in a state where an accelerator opening degree is zero. While executing the vehicle speed control, as compared to while not executing the vehicle speed control, (1) the controller increases the frequency of a carrier signal used when generating a driving signal to the switching element, during the execution of the vehicle speed control and during traveling, and (2) the controller reduces the output of the pump during the execution of the vehicle speed control and during stopping.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
