To produce an electrically semiconductive belt excellent in environmental stability of electrical characteristics such as surface resistance, less liable to be changed due to the external environment, capable of transferring a good image to a recording sheet without causing a deformation and uneven transfer of toner image and capable of retaining an ability to well separate the recording sheet in conveyance over a long period of time.
The electrically semiconductive belt has a monolayer seamless structure and comprises a polyimide resin containing an electrically conductive filler. This filler is uniformly dispersed over the entire cross-section of the belt and the difference in surface resistivity between the outer and inner surfaces of the belt on the basis of common logarithm is ≤1.0. The average particle diameter of the electrically conductive filler on the basis of primary particles is ≤5 μm.
